Everyone knows how much I love photographing newborns, but when I get the opportunity to photograph the newborns of friends, I get even more giddy! Especially when the friend is expecting twins!!! Photographing multiples may be a ton of work, but I enjoy every second I get to spend with these little miracles as well as every minute of editing afterwards. Justine & Tim have two sweet little boys, and recently were excited to bring in another little boy into the world. Heartbreakingly, Baby Alexander passed away before he had a chance to experience the world. It was a tragic loss, that brings tears to my eyes every time I think of him. Justine has honored him in so many creative ways, including a special mandala project that many people participated in (including Juniper & I). When I found out that she was pregnant again, I was so happy to know she was not only going to have one but TWO rainbow babies! She is one of the most creative people that I know, and she makes so many AMAZING pieces of art, including this rainbow quilt that I knew must be incorporated in the twins’ newborn shoot. Check out all her amazing eco-friendly pieces at Potomac River Goods!
Since they were born near Easter, Justine had these adorable newborn bunny props to put the boys in. The cuteness is overwhelming!
Tim is the guitarist for Clutch, so of course we had to do some pictures in one of his guitar cases. Speaking of Clutch, do you know they are headlining the Earth Rocker Festival at Shiley Acres next month before they head off to Europe? Jon & I are having a rare date night to go since it’s so close to home, and you should too!
Love all those little new baby parts, even the little stink eye!
When I do on location newborn portraits in clients’ homes, I like to get lifestyle images as well. Those little moments of feeding, changing and chaos are soon forgotten, so it’s nice to have those moments documented. Check out their cat spying on us!
All the boys!
Big brother, Cole, is such a sweetheart!
Major props to my little sidekick for holding the reflector for some of these! I’m starting her photography training off early!
I love it when newborns stick their tongue out at me! “I’m DONE!”
