When Logan & Taylor booked me for their Cinco de Mayo wedding at Boydville, The Inn at Martinsburg, I was ecstatic! Not only is this couple straight up model status, but I haven’t photographed a full wedding at Boydville since they opened. Lots of bridal portraits, boudoir photography, family portraits and a vow renewal/bridal show, but no real weddings from start to finish (well, almost finish!). I was bummed when we woke up to rain all day and especially the thunderstorms and torrential downpours that night, but looking at these images, I am thrilled with all the ridiculously gorgeous shots we were able to capture! Boydville provided the perfect backdrop for amazing wedding photography and I can’t wait to go back! Be prepared to ooh & ahh out loud when you look at these 😉
Funny personal story (sorta, lol)… They only had us there for a little bit of the reception, but I really wanted a closing shot for the end of the night and so I offered to come back for 10 minutes to capture their sparkler exit since it is right down the road from us. I didn’t anticipate a full on thunderstorm, though! As I came out my front door and was going down my front steps, a huge crack of thunder came down super close to our neighborhood. It scared the bejeezus out of me and I somehow slipped and fell (queue the laughing… it’s okay). I heard something crack/pop really loud and thought it was my camera that I was idiotically carrying in my hand, but nope, my camera was high above my head safe and sound (just drenched!). It ended up being a torn ligament and that is what the loud crack/pop sound was (and yes, of course, I still hobbled my way to the car to go get the shot). I’m just happy I didn’t break my favorite camera!

How elegantly romantic is the entrance to the bridal suite at Boydville?!?
Since it was raining, I took Taylor to another bedroom and did this little portrait series which I’m in love with! Cassia did a phenomenal job with that makeup!
Rain won’t stop us from creating jaw-dropping portraits with the ladies 🙂
And now to the men! The Gentlemen’s Quarters that the men get ready in has so much character inside and out!
They chose to keep the ceremony in the lawn even with the rain, which I LOVE! Most people had umbrellas to stay dry if they wished, and the steps are covered so the wedding party stayed dry once they made it to cover. I loved the mood it created.
Some special moments during family portrait time.
Oh, and these! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
The Cinco de Mayo decorations brightened up the reception area, and everyone was in the spirit! Check out their awesome favors!
The taco bar from Habanero Mexican Grill was the perfect dinner for this wedding!
